Scope of work

The level crossing at Skye Road, Frankston on the Frankston Line was identified for removal as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project to remove 50 of Victoria’s most dangerous and congested level crossings. As part of these works, Civil Infrastructure Group was contracted to construct the substructure for a new rail bridge.

This entailed the excavation and FRP of 22no. pile caps including the de- bonding and hydraulic splitting to remove 88no. pile heads. It also involved the construction of 22no. in-situ columns, 1700mm in diameter, ranging from 1.2m to 4m high.
